Position Summary

The registrar is responsible for keeping the student records of the school.  Responsible for the enrollment process ensuring records are accurate. These records are to be held in an orderly condition and updated in a timely manner; The registrar will validate all transcripts that are sent from the school and will verify with the counselor when students have completed all required coursework needed for their graduation, answer the school telephone when needed and other responsibilities as assigned by the principal of the school. 

 

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities 

 

  • Respects the confidentiality of the position
  • Maintain an accurate and current filing system of correspondence
  • Oversee the maintenance of student files
  • Oversee the application and enrollment processes are being implemented correctly
  • Oversee the withdrawal/leaver process
  • Inform all staff of new students and withdrawals
  • Answer the school telephone as needed
  • Compile reports from existing records; assist with special projects by searching computer files and gathering records as required
  • Maintain knowledge and skills of all school office functions and duties to ensure appropriate backup coverage will be available when required 
  • Transfer student records using the TREX System
  • Assists the campus principal in the successful operation of the front office by establishing a positive climate that supports customer service, timely effective and responsive communication with the other front office staff and the PEIMS Department
  • Assist the campus principal with ensuring the appropriate safekeeping, storage, accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of student files consistent with SWPS policies and procedures
  • Assist the campus principal with identifying initial and recurring training needs of registrars coordinate or conduct appropriate training
  • Coordinate schedules of the front office to ensure adequate coverage throughout the day and throughout the school year

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL: Non-Supervisory

 

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of High School Diploma, minimum of 1-year experience in the foodservice industry, preferably in a school setting. Must have or be able to obtain a food service worker license.

 

FUNCTION: Maintains a program that meets the federal guidelines for the child nutrition meal patterns as approved by the Texas Department of Agriculture

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 

  • Keep current master lists of all applications and certified students
  • Maintains standards of sanitation which are in conformity with local and state codes and displays certificate in food service area.
  • Maintains an inventory of all food and supplies for the program.
  • Submits all required reports timely.
  • Participates in CNP audits
  • Assists in the preparation and serving of meals in a quick and pleasant manner
  • Serves students from the food service counter
  • Assists in the daily clean up of the service areas and dining tables Assists in the storage and disposal of unused foods 
  • Performs related duties as required including duties at special meal functions;
  • Willingness and ability to work with others, to share and cross-train in order to promote the concept of “teaming” and “a team approach” in order to meet the program needs
