The San Antonio Special Programs Co-op (SASPC) is committed to supporting educators, paraprofessionals, parents, and volunteers through meaningful, high-quality training. Our professional development sessions are designed to strengthen compliance, instructional practices, and collaboration—ensuring that students receiving special education services are well-supported in every setting. Below you'll find scheduled training opportunities throughout the school year, categorized by audience. Sessions cover topics such as legal compliance, instructional planning, behavior strategies, parent engagement, and more. All training is provided by experienced specialists and aligned with current state and federal guidelines.

ESC 20 Family Engagement Training
Additionally, the Educational Service Center 20 provides parent training.  Click here and search "Family Engagement" to find different topics for parents.
 

Foster and Surrogate Training
Volunteers are needed to serve as surrogate parents.  If you are interested, please contact the SASPC office at 210-447-9101. 
 
  • No parent can be identified
  • Parent cannot be located after reasonable efforts by the school district
  • The child is a ward of the State
  • The child is an unaccompanied homeless youth
 
If you are interested in becoming a surrogate, you can complete the required training, save a copy of the training certificate, and contact our office.
