I am personally convinced that one person can be a change catalyst, a “transformer” in any situation, any organization.  Such an individual is yeast that can leaven an entire loaf.  It requires vision, initiative, patience, respect, persistence, courage, and faith to be a transforming leaderStephen R. Dear Faculty and Staff,

It is a pleasure for us to greet you as we prepare for the opening of an exciting and eventful 2023-2024 school year. We have thoroughly enjoyed celebrating our 25th year of operation during the 2022-2023 school year.  With over two decades of successful operation, we will continue to pursue even greater achievements in the future.  These past few years have been very stressful for our country and our educational system.  We are very grateful for and appreciative of the hard work that our faculty and staff do.  Even now, you are all working together to complete the goals outlined in our Strategic Plan that aim to improve early childhood reading proficiency, bring growth in both reading and math, continue our 100% graduation rate, and increase the number of college credits our students earn.  We all understand that change is an ongoing process but we truly believe that our SWPREP family is a talented, dedicated and goal-oriented group of professionals who will meet all challenges that are put before us.

SALT has been faithfully led by our leadership team of Mrs. Christinn Jean, Mr. Christopher McCammon and Ms. Veronica Champion who have worked diligently throughout this past year.  Teachers have continued to be faithful to their tasks of planning and providing instruction for their students.  Overall, we are pleased with the level of engagement and participation that has been shown by our students.  As we move forward, we must increase that participation level and make sure that every child has many opportunities to learn and grow.  Our core values have never been more important than they are now.  We continue to search for ways to increase student ownership of these core beliefs as our faculty and leadership lead the way.

We look forward to continuing our work with our highly qualified principals:  Mr. Ray Martinez, Mrs. Cheryl Wills-Pacheco, Ms. Lindsey Heckman and Mrs. Dana Fornabaio.  These fine campus leaders bring a great deal of energy and commitment to their campus teams.  It will take all of us, standing on our core values, and working solidly together to create the school and educational environment that will meet our mission and vision.
All professional development sessions are extremely important for our district.  Each staff member has a significant role to play in the success of each school and the district.  It is imperative that everyone be actively involved for assigned sessions.  As we celebrate our 25 years of successfully serving our mission, let us look forward to some planned opportunities for collegial teamwork and focus on our improvement efforts.

Please know that The District Leadership Team is privileged to serve and support you as you pursue the many opportunities for service before you.   We all recognize that we face many challenges and difficulties, but we have the purpose and direction to properly guide us to success – not only for ourselves but also for the students that we serve.  As each of us understands the importance of personal accountability in our designated positions, we should also realize that this is a time for us to work more closely together than ever before.  Unity of mind, spirit and purpose will serve us well as we look forward to our most successful year ever and the beginning of another 25 years of committed service.   Bring your enthusiasm and positive spirit and look forward to a time of professional growth as we seek to develop character and ethics in our students so they can make a positive impact on the community around them.

Your District Leadership Team wishes all of you much success and joy in the upcoming year!
