Lesson Planning

Southwest Preparatory District Lesson Planning Expectations
- All lesson plans must be submitted in Eduphoria Forethought by 8:00 A.M. every Monday morning for the upcoming instructional week.
- Teachers are required to use either the district-approved lesson planning template or the internalization template specific to their subject or content area
- Each lesson plan must clearly demonstrate the following three critical components:
- Daily Pacing: A clear breakdown of how instructional time will be used throughout each day.
- Curriculum/Resource Alignment: Identification of where the lesson falls within the adopted curriculum, scope and sequence, or HQIM resource (e.g., HMH, Eureka, Carnegie).
- Measurable Learning Goal & Exit Ticket: A clearly stated, student-friendly learning objective aligned with an exit ticket that allows for daily evidence of student understanding.
These district expectations are designed to support consistent, data-driven, and aligned instruction. Please note: campus leadership may have additional or more specific requirements based on campus needs.
Thank you for your commitment to high-quality planning and instructional excellence!
