Art

Hello! I am the Art teacher for Southwest Prep Seguin. I love getting to work with all ages of students. I love being able to see the creativity and ingenuity of the students. In my classroom I like to give students a lot of freedom to work and create meaningful artwork that they enjoy. I strongly believe the student is the artist and the room is their studio. I like to do hands on learning where we learn the process more than the product. Students get to experience a variety of materials and find out what they really enjoy.

A little about me...
I was born in Houston and moved all around Texas. I attended Baylor University in Waco. I graduated with a BFA  majoring in Studio Art. I was the curator / education director of the Hummel Museum in New Braunfels. I then worked as an Exhibit Tech at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum. I got to handle some famous Texas artifacts as the builder of display mounts. I then moved to the Dallas / Fort Worth area and worked for Displays Unlimited. This was a professional art handling company that worked in museums all around the country. I got to travel and work with some amazing artists, art galleries and museums. I have worked as a cake decorator and a stained glass artist. I am married and have one daughter, one dog and one cat. In my free time I enjoy painting, pottery, going to parks, movies, Broadway musicals, comic-cons, concerts, and hanging out with family.
