Laura's Bio

Ms. Laura Garza's has 25 years of experience in education and consulting.  Prior to her work in education she was a vision therapist.  Her work in education has been as a classroom, inclusion, and collaborative teacher where she provided instruction and services to a diverse population of students with a variety of disabilities. She has worked as a TEA assigned consultant with district needing support.  Her experience as an campus and district administrator provided opportunities to develop and provide staff development in the areas of monitoring, special education, differentiated instruction, accommodation/modifications, and compliance. She presents at state and national conferences and has been a guest speaker on differentiated instruction, special education, and compliance.  She serves on several state and regional boards and has supported districts as a consultant and auditor assisting districts in various needs assessments to identify areas of growth.  Ms. Garza's current position as the

Executive director of Special Programs for the San Antonio Special Programs Coop serves 10 member districts which consists of both charter and independent school districts.  She oversees compliance, training and supervision of 504, dyslexia and special education programs.  Her goal is to support the vision and mission of the SASPC helping students meet their maximum potential.
