Pre-K 4 At-Home Learning: Hop Over to the Lillypad

Pre-K 4 is an exciting year—connecting early learning to the skills your child will need in kindergarten and beyond. At this stage, children are growing their attention span, expanding vocabulary, exploring early math and literacy, and building friendships that teach cooperation and empathy.

To help keep the learning going at home, we’ve gathered weekly Family Connections Activities and Interactive Storybooks that match what your child is learning in class. These resources live on the Frog Street Lillypad—a fun, interactive space just for families. Each week, you can “hop” over to the Lillypad to find activities, stories (with or without audio), and ideas to support your child’s growth.

Working together, we can make learning a joyful part of your child’s everyday routine and prepare them for a confident start to kindergarten.

My School and Me - Week 1

This week we’re beginning a new theme in our classroom, “My School and Me”. In the first week of this theme, children will be introduced to their classroom, their teacher, their classmates, and to the school campus. The first week of school will be very exciting for your child with so many new things to learn including new school routines. We will be talking about routines your child does at home to get ready for school, such as getting dressed, eating breakfast, and brushing teeth. Review with your child how he or she gets ready for school. Ask: What do you do first? Next? Last?

Creative Me - Week 1

This week we are beginning a new theme in our classroom, “Creative Me”. Children love to watch construction work. They are fascinated by big machines. This week, children will explore construction. They will learn the names of construction vehicles and how they are used. They will also be introduced to the different stages (steps) in building.
