Big Give 2025 Wrap-Up: Fueling the Future for Our Student

Southwest Preparatory School is thrilled to announce that our community raised $12,615.01 during The Big Give 2025 in support of our College and Career Scholarship Program.

This program provides students in grades 6–12 the opportunity to earn up to $300 each semester toward their future college, trade, or vocational training. To qualify, students must maintain an A average, 95% attendance, a record of good behavior, complete volunteer service hours, and pass all state assessments. These scholarships don’t just provide financial support—they instill lifelong values of responsibility, perseverance, and goal-setting.

Campus Highlights

🌟 Northwest – $4,114.52 Raised
Every class took the challenge to heart, hosting creative events from lemonade and fruit cup sales to smelly pencils, bake sales, paletas, hot dogs, corn in a cup, and gaming tournaments.

🌟 Southeast – $2,534.49 Raised
The Warriors brought the fun with pie-in-the-face challenges and plate sales, drawing big smiles and bigger donations.

🌟 Seguin – $2,356.00 Raised
The Eagles soared with a Student Art Auction, Salsa Sale, Bake Sale, and even a chance for families to slime or duct-tape administrators to the wall.

🌟 Northeast – $320 Raised
Though a smaller total, the Knights proudly joined the district-wide effort to support scholarships for their peers.

🌟 District & Superintendent’s Raffle – $2,640 Raised
Thanks to the generosity of community partners—including the San Antonio Zoo, San Antonio Aquarium, Natural Bridge Caverns, Texas State Aquarium, Animal World & Snake Farm Zoo, and Marianita’s Artisan Boutique—the raffle was a huge success.

Why It Matters

“By meeting the scholarship criteria—good grades, strong attendance, positive behavior, and volunteering in their community—our students achieve far more than just earning scholarship dollars. They build character, discipline, and lifelong habits that prepare them for success well beyond high school. I truly hope families will continue to support their students in pursuing this scholarship opportunity.”Sandi Mitchell, Director of Community Relations
