Learn More About Your Child’s School
Information from the Texas Education Agency (TEA)
The Texas A–F accountability system is a fair, rigorous, and transparent tool for measuring campus and school district performance. Ratings are one of many ways to determine how well a school is preparing students for the next grade level and success after high school. Teachers and schools also use rating information to improve practices and instructional approaches for the new school year and beyond.
As of August 15, 2025, you can view your child’s school rating by visiting TXschools.gov. The site allows you to:
-
Search for schools by address, city, or zip code.
-
Compare your child’s school to others.
-
Explore detailed school profiles, offerings, and parent resources.

Why do we have school accountability ratings?
The system provides families, educators, and the public with information about how schools are meeting students’ needs and preparing them for the future.
What does the overall rating mean?
Ratings reflect performance in three areas:
-
Student Achievement – what students know and can do.

School Progress – how much progress students have made compared to last year or to peers in similar schools.
-
Closing the Gaps – whether performance gaps exist among different groups of students.

A Message from Southwest Preparatory School
Southwest Preparatory School received an overall C rating (77 out of 100) in the 2025 Texas A–F accountability system.
While a C reflects that our district is meeting standards, we know our students are capable of more — and we are determined to grow stronger. Accountability ratings give us valuable feedback on student learning, growth, and readiness for life after high school.
Some of our campuses earned high marks, including an A at Northwest Elementary and B ratings at Northeast and Northwest secondary campuses. Other campuses received lower scores, and we take those results very seriously. Our principals, teachers, and staff are already focused on:
-
Strengthening early literacy
-
Improving math growth
-
Boosting attendance
-
Expanding parent engagement
These areas are central to our mission of ensuring every student thrives.
Our theme for this school year, Every Student. Every Step. Every Day., reflects our commitment to build on strengths and address challenges head-on.
