Southwest Preparatory School to Provide Free Meals to All Students in 2025–2026
Southwest Preparatory School District is proud to announce its participation in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2025–2026 school year. Through this federally funded initiative, all students will receive breakfast and lunch at no cost, regardless of household income.
This four-year program simplifies the meal process for families and staff by eliminating the need for meal applications, ensuring that every child has access to nutritious meals each school day. CEP not only improves food access but also reduces administrative burdens and supports student health, academic performance, and equity in school communities.
“Our goal is to remove barriers to learning, and hunger shouldn’t be one of them,” said Ashley Willis, Director of Child Nutrition Services at Southwest Preparatory School. “We’re excited to offer this support to all of our students and families.”
While families are not required to fill out traditional meal applications, the district does request that all parents complete a short household income survey. This survey is critical in helping the school receive important state and federal funding that supports student programs, including Title I and State Compensatory Education.
No action is needed to receive free meals — every enrolled student will automatically be included.
If you have questions about this program or how to complete the income survey, please email Ashley Willis, CNP Director.
