Southwest Preparatory School Celebrates TIA Teacher Achievements
Southwest Preparatory School is proud to announce the 2024–2025 recipients of the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) designations—a major milestone that recognizes teacher excellence and directly impacts student learning.
This year, we’re celebrating the advancement of three teachers:
-
Victor Vasquez has earned the Recognized designation,
-
Avonlea Villarreal and Gabriela Santiago have both reached the highest honor—Master designation.
These teachers join an outstanding group of Southwest Prep educators who have been awarded TIA distinctions at all three levels: Recognized, Exemplary, and Master. These titles aren’t just labels—they reflect a statewide recognition of the impact these teachers are making every day in our classrooms.
“Seeing our teachers move from Recognized to Exemplary to Master is deeply meaningful,” said Superintendent Christopher McCammon. “It shows our commitment to excellence and confirms that our students are learning from the best.”
The Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) is a Texas initiative that rewards highly effective educators for their impact in the classroom, using teacher observation data and student growth measures. The program helps ensure that more students—especially in underserved areas—have access to excellent instruction. At Southwest Prep, it’s a key part of our mission to support strong, student-centered learning.
“We’re building a culture where excellence is expected and celebrated in every classroom,” McCammon shared. “TIA designations reflect the real impact our teachers are making and serve as an inspiration across our campuses.”
Southwest Prep’s long-term goal is to help all teachers reach TIA designation. As more educators rise through the TIA ranks, they serve as models and mentors—strengthening instructional practices and shaping a culture of growth districtwide.
Congratulations to the entire list of TIA-designated teachers this year:
Master: Cynthia Campos, Cristy Rember, Teresa Rodriguez, Gabriela Santiago, Avonlea Villarreal
Exemplary: Patrick Floyd, Erin Sink, J’nita Blye, Erasmo Cisneros, Maggie Hurd, Erica Gonzalez, Jeanette Flores, Lina Earles, Marilyn Morales, Zachary Steadman

These educators represent the heart of our mission. Their success is our students’ success—and that’s worth celebrating.
