Southwest Preparatory School - Seguin Celebrates First Graduating Class
Seguin, TX – May 24, 2024 – Southwest Preparatory School - Seguin is proud to announce its first senior class graduation at Hillcrest Church on June 1, 2024. This historic event marks a significant milestone for the school, which began its journey in the 2016-2017 school year with grades Pre-K through 5th. Over the years, the school has grown steadily, adding a grade each year, and is now celebrating the achievements of its first cohort of high school graduates.
The graduating class of 2024 consists of ten exceptional students. Principal Dana Fornabaio commends these students for their remarkable ability to navigate unprecedented challenges with grace and determination. “This group of graduates has set a high standard for future classes. Their journey symbolizes our school’s commitment to excellence and adaptability,” said Fornabaio.
The students faced numerous challenges throughout high school, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, these obstacles only strengthened their bond and underscored their perseverance. The class of 2024's achievements are a testament to their hard work and the supportive, nurturing environment that Southwest Preparatory School - Seguin provides.
Southwest Preparatory School - Seguin is dedicated to offering a personalized educational experience with small class sizes and focusing on one-on-one attention. Each high school grade is capped at 18 students, ensuring each student receives the support they need to thrive. The close-knit community fosters strong relationships between students, teachers, and staff, allowing students to find their unique voices and explore their passions.
The commencement ceremony will honor Valedictorian Olivia Calderon and Salutatorian Isabelle Braune, who have exemplified academic excellence and leadership.
“Olivia and Isabelle have been outstanding role models for their peers,” added Principal Fornabaio. “We are incredibly proud of all our graduates and excited to see what the future holds for them.”
School Counselor Mrs. Perales added, “Our education is a dress rehearsal for a life that is yours to lead,” quoting Nora Ephron. “This embodies this great group of students. They showed up, found out what they needed to do, and displayed tenacity and perseverance to complete the work that brought them here today.
Reflecting on her experience, 2024 graduate Amisti Martinez shared, "Being a part of the first graduating class to me means paving the way for all future graduating classes. In my years at Southwest Prep, I'm honored to say it was unlike any other. We built a family here, and the time we've shared will be with me for a lifetime."
