Employment Requirements:
• Texas certification in Special Education required
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working in special education
• Management experience required
Basic Function:
• Ensure co-op member schools have the information and skills to maintain compliance with local, state, and federal policies and guidelines regarding special education and 504
- Develops and monitors the Special Programs budget, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, compliance with funding requirements, and efficient allocation of resources; prepares regular financial reports and provides data-driven recommendations for program improvements.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Evaluate the special education programs of co-op member schools and recommend changes as needed.
• Ensure standardization of procedures, forms, and structure of special education programs in co-op member schools
• Facilitate coordination with Region 20 and TEA to provide technical expertise to co-op member schools
• Keep co-op member schools informed of new laws and regulations concerning special education
• Serve as resource to co-op member schools in need of transition services, testing, and related services
• Provide leadership in establishing new educational special education programs and developing improved understanding of existing special education programs
• Prepare special education documents as needed including SAS applications and other grant opportunities
• Initiate, plan, and coordinate staff training on co-op procedures and guidelines
• Serve as liaison with parents, community, and co-op board members in matters relating to Special Programs Co-op
• Attend seminars and workshops to maintain a current level of knowledge in all matters concerning special education
• Coordinate annual data collection for required submissions (such as SPP and RF) to TEA
• Ensure that co-op member schools maintain current special education policies, procedures, and operating guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned by the fiscal agent superintendent

Job Status: Part Time Reports to: The Superintendent
Stipend: $3000 ($1500 each semester)

BASIC FUNCTION: Coordinate athletic leagues and physical education responsibilities between campus athletic departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Promote the mission and philosophy of Southwest Preparatory School;
- Responsible for inventory and inventory controls of the athletic program equipment;
- Serve as point-of-contact with the Texas Charter School Academic and Athletic League, and any other athletic leagues necessary;
- Work with all campus Principals to determine selection of and monitoring of coaches and coaching activities;
- Serve as the district Physical Education PLC Lead; work with all district PE teachers to develop lesson plans that will reflect the use of the teacher evaluation tool;
- Responsible for the coordination and data entry of Fitnessgram;
- Provide information for the School Health Advisory Committee and meet with our committee when possible;
- Work cooperatively with all District and campus leadership and other staff as needed to meet curriculum objectives;
- Work cooperatively with the Special Education teachers to modify curricula as needed for Special Education students according to guidelines established in the Individual Educational Plan;
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing;
- Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and Student-Parent Handbook;
- Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals and teachers;
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required;
- Participate in staff development activities to improve job related skills; and
- Perform other duties as assigned.
