Campus Testing Coordinators play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and secure administration of state assessments. As the primary link between the district and campus staff, they oversee all aspects of testing, from scheduling and compliance to training and test security. Their dedication ensures that every student receives a fair and appropriate testing experience while maintaining the integrity of the Texas Assessment Program.

Campus Coordinator Responsibilities
  • Serve as a liaison between the district coordinator and campus personnel for test-related communications.
  • Designate and train test administrators.
  • Designate and train campus personnel involved in the holistic rating process.
  • Ensure all students are appropriately tested, including students receiving special education services and EB students.
  • Ensure students are tested with appropriate and allowed accommodations.
  • Monitor and maintain test security.
  • Ensure proper coordination with technology staff to prepare the campus to administer assessments.
  • Prepare and distribute test materials on the campus for each administration.
  • Schedule and coordinate administration activities on the campus.
  • Ensure student data (such as score codes and student responses and ratings) have been entered into TIDE and DEI.
  • Prepare test materials for return to the district coordinator at the conclusion of test administrations.
  • Report any suspected violation of test security to the district coordinator
 
Conduct Training Sessions
Required topics for campus coordinator training include:
  • Assigning roles and responsibilities, including those for campus coordinators, principals, test administrators, technology staff, and support staff (such as hall monitors)
  • Ensuring test security, including secure materials and content, confidentiality requirements, active monitoring, test security oaths, and consequences for adult and student cheating
  • Scheduling test administrations, including testing dates, time allowed for tests, breaks, make-up testing, and individual and group testing sessions
  • Identifying eligible students to ensure all students are appropriately tested, including students receiving special education services and EB students testing with accommodations, including understanding accessibility and accommodation policies, ensuring that testing personnel have a current list of each student’s allowed or approved designated supports, and preparing testing locations for students who need certain designated supports
  • Handling secure testing materials, including receiving, storing, and distributing test materials
  • Monitoring test administrations, including determining the availability of additional personnel (such as testing coordinators, principals, and other administrators) to serve as monitors
  • Completing test administrations
  • Entering and verifying student data (such as score codes and student responses and ratings) into TIDE and DEI as applicable
  • Returning testing materials

Direct Campus Coordinators to Review and Sign a Test Security Oath 
  • Campus testing coordinators must complete an Oath of Test Security and Confidentiality after training and before handling secure test materials and content.
  • A copy of the completed oath (electronic or paper) should be submitted to the district testing coordinator.

Attend Training
  • Campus coordinators are required to receive annual training on test security and administration procedures, as well as training in procedures unique to specific testing programs and circumstances.
  • Ensure these Coordinator Resources and the relevant test administrator manuals are available during the training session.
 
Review and Sign a Test Security Oath
Understand your obligations concerning test security and confidentiality.
Initial each item on the Oath of Test Security and Confidentiality before handling secure test materials and content.
After completing the test security oath, provide a copy of the completed oath (electronic or paper) to the district testing coordinator.
