We encourage both students and parents to explore the various testing options available. At Southwest Preparatory School Seguin, we offer the following testing programs for students in 10th grade and above:

PSAT

Pre-Standard Aptitude Test

10th & 11th

Offered during the day during a standard testing window, the PSAT is structured to assess student readiness for College and Career. The results can give insight to the places students may wish to focus for the remainder of High-School. May lead to invitation to National Merit and other recognition based programs.

ACT America College Testing

11th

Standardized College entrance exam. Often required when applying for admission to college. Offered during the school day. Often Interchangeable with the SAT.

ASVAB Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery

10th-12th

Required for enlistment for military service, guides test takers towards occupations where they are best suited in the military. May help even students not interested in military service to identify areas of interest or aptitude even outside the military.

TSI Texas Success Initiative

10th-12th

Math and Reading assessment designed to assess whether students have sufficient grasp of the subject for entry level College coursework, or if they should enroll in remedial coursework prior to beginning college classes.

SAT Standard Aptitude Test

Standardized College entrance exam. Often required when applying for admission to college. Often interchangeable with the ACT.
