Mr. Rafael Hinojosa Bio
I am very enthusiastic for this coming 2021-2022 school year! My classroom is located in the middle school wing, Room 131. I teach Social Studies grades 6th to 9th and also serve as District PLC leader for Social Studies.
I was born in Laredo and graduated from J.B. Alexander. I hold an Associate in Arts History degree from Laredo College and a Bachelor of Arts in History degree from Texas A&M International University where I also earned an outstanding written award for Passport policy making in Latin America. Furthermore, I am the Social studies PLC leader for the District.
I have two beautiful daughters named Daphne (9 years) and Rebekah (5 years) and a Belgian malinois named Myla (1 year).
The 2020-2021 school year marks my eighth year as a teacher. Every year brings both challenges and victories, and I am confident that we will have a very successful school year! I enjoy sponsoring the Student Council Body and teaching students about policy making, critical thinking and leadership skills.
In Social Studies we will explore the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and learn academic thinking/ writing skills needed for our Early College Program and life. You will need to have all required supplies and be ready to learn at the beginning of each class meeting. A lot of learning and skill building will take place in our highly effective learning environment.
