Biographical
Information This is my 47th year to work but only my 25th year to teach. I have taught English reading and writing to students in grades 4 through 12 and adults. I became a teacher originally sort of by accident. I was interesting in nursing until I found out that I would have to live in a closed dorm during my training. After teaching 4 years at MacArthur High School, I went to work for the US Office of Personnel Management. I was the first woman intern they had hired. For fifteen years I assisted federal and nonfederal government agencies to achieve personnel systems that were free of systemic discrimination and actively pursuing affirmative action. I came back to teaching because I discovered that what I really enjoyed doing was teaching in a classroom setting. |
